People get really excited when their dinner is served in pie formation.
This comes out looking pretty fancy for the amount of time spent. You can probably whip out a taco pie in around 40 minutes, with very little hands-on time.
Store-bought taco seasoning will work fine for this, but this one is great if you want to make your own:

Taco Pie

Ingredients
- 1 pie crust store-bought or homemade
- 30 oz lean ground meat beef or turkey
- 1 onion chopped
- 2-3 bell peppers (any color) chopped
- 1-2 cups black beans canned or pre-cooked
- 1 can diced green chiles
- 1/2-1 cups salsa
- Adobo
- 1 package taco seasoning store-bought or homemade
- sharp cheddar or Mexican style shredded cheese optional
- optional: cilantro, shredded lettuce, guacamole, avocado, sour cream, Valentina, etc.
Instructions
- Brown the meat in a pan with the onion and taco seasoning. Drain the fat.
- Add 1/2 to 1 can of green chiles and 1-2 to 1 cup of salsa, depending on how spicy you like it.
- Add peppers and heat through.
- Drain the beans and mix them with a sprinkling of Adobo.
- Place the pie crust in a pie pan.
- Add the beans to the pan.
- Top with the ground meat mixture.
- Bake at 400 for around 25 minutes. You can cover the pie edges with foil if you are worried about them burning.
- Top with shredded cheese (if using).
- Bake for a few more minutes until the cheese melts.
- Slice the pie and top with your favorite taco toppings.
